Disney Baby Tips: Part 1, Save Time and Money

My sister-in-law is expecting her first child.  (Hooray!)  Since I've had two babies in the last two years and I like to research baby gear items before I buy them, I've offered to share what I've learned with her.  I've spent enough time on this stuff.  There's no need for her to have to duplicate it all.  From time to time, I'm going to share the tips here on Growing Up Disney.  Some of my tips will be travel related and some may save time or money, freeing up those resources for more fun things, like Disney!  Also, I've appreciated the tips shared by other moms and it's only right to give back.

I have been an Amazon fan for years.  I just love reading reviews before I buy a product.  Amazon now has a program called Amazon Mom.  Enrollment in the program is free and grants you 30% savings on baby essentials: diapers and wipes.  And as you spend money under the program, you earn yourself months of Amazon Prime, which gives you two day free shipping and normally costs $79 per year.

I've been buying diapers for the girls under the program and just signed up for the wipes today.  To get the discount, select diapers or wipes that are eligible for "subscribe and save."  S&S offers a 15% discount and Amazon Mom will take off another 15% once you've added the item to your cart.  You can choose to have S&S items delivered once every 1, 2, 3, or 6 months.  I tend to need diapers for the baby more often than once a month, but it's very easy to request an additional delivery from your account.  For items that you don't really want to keep getting or maybe you'd just like to try it out before committing, choose 6 months.  Then later you can either cancel or edit the delivery schedule.

Subscribe and save is also great for other items.  We use cloth diapers as well and my favorite laundry detergent for them is now on S&S.  I can't find it locally anyway, so getting an additional discount is wonderful.  It's much easier to shop from my computer while the girls are happy at home than to try to get everyone ready, shop before there is a meltdown, load the car and then haul everything inside.  No, I can't eliminate my grocery shopping trips, but I am subscribing to some non-perishable items to make my trips faster.  And with great prices, why not?

Disclaimer:  Yes, I make a little money (emphasis on little) if you buy a product on Amazon and started through a link on my site.  However, that's totally not why I am linking to them in this series.  1. I really use and like Amazon. 2. My BIL and SIL shop there frequently so that makes it easier for them to start their own search if they like my suggestions. 3. Through Blogger, Amazon is the easiest way to add product photos.   Update: As a resident of NC, I am not eligible for the affiliate program.  That doesn't change my opinions above.  Just keeping everything out in the open.
