A Magical Blogorail Baby Shower: Winnie the Pooh Cakes

Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney Donna Kay and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail.

The Magical Blogorail is throwing a virtual baby shower for two of our own and the theme is Winnie the Pooh.  I'm bringing the cakes.  This is a great neutral theme...everyone loves Pooh Bear!  Or you could customize it simply by changing Pooh's shirt to pink or blue.

It's also fun to carry over the theme from the baby shower into the first birthday party.   Below is a cake I decorated for Tink's first birthday party with my husband's side of the family.   It was made with a Wilton pan, a Duncan Hines yellow cake mix, my parents' secret icing recipe, and tinted with the Wilton Winnie the Pooh kit.

For the smash cake, Tink got her own mini-version of the large cake.

As you can see, the smash cake was a hit.  (And thank goodness that red icing cleaned up easily.  My in-laws had JUST moved into their new house and Tink accidentally threw icing on the wall.  Grandkids can get away with anything.)

Tink is a lucky little girl and this was her first first birthday party.  The second was at Walt Disney World. Granny and Granddaddy brought Mickey Mouse cakes to Old Key West for the celebration.

Best wishes to Jenn and Beth!  I can't wait to see pictures of our newest blogorail babies!  To continue the baby shower fun, your next stop is Can Do It Mom AKA Mouse Fan Diane
